One of our favorite Christmas traditions is getting a real tree at Heins Pines. It's our own little family tradition and it's always a special day of memories. Last year, we were lucky enough to find snow at the Pines, but this year we just found more wind in terms of weather. :(

But something we did find was the addition of a horse-drawn wagon giving rides. Yay! (We try to find as many of these as we can during the holiday season!)

And despite the fact that we literally had to spit dirt out of our mouths when we were done, it was a grand ride!

As usual, Ruby wanted to bring all the animals home.

The kids were given an exclusive wreath-making demonstration. (It helps when you are noticeably interested in all mechanics of a project!)

This just makes me a little dizzy.

Until next year, little tree farm!

And here she is (was) in all her glory. She was a beautiful tree and adorned with 48 new handmade ornaments as we worked our way through Truth in the Tinsel. The very best ornaments are truly the ones you make yourselves.
