Ah, Christmas. It arrived and was celebrated with great fanfare and delight. And now, its memories are tucked away for another year. We fill our post-holiday days with new (real!) tools, fairy homes, spurs, chaps and all manner of cowboy attire, much-needed new art supplies and treasured, handmade gifts by all. (And a fox pelt in a pear tree.)

We found ourselves at the Buffalo Bill Cody Christmas extravaganza once again this year . . . it's a great occasion to wear your Bill Cody outfit. (See August above.) It's crispy cold, smells like horses and is a festive way to prepare for Christmas, enjoying the lights and hot cider on a trip through the grounds behind the clip-clop of hooves.

Each year I write 'learn to knit' on my list of New Year's Projects. After many years of wishing instead of doing, today, my friends, I am happy to report I have finally done so. Really.
I suppose I should really be using my time to work on Christmas presents . . . or putting away laundry or picking up the house that seems to have exploded in the past 24 hours.
But this is waaaaaaaaay more fun.
I think I'm going to have to add a line-item to my budget for yarn.

Well, here we are - all four of us traipsing across the country to find our Christmas tree. It was cold (in the upper 20s) a bit overcast and we had two tired kids, but our now annual trip to Heins Pines made up for any gray aspect of the day. And guess what they had? (Those lucky, lucky people.) Snow. They had snow. It was marvelous.
And do you know what else they had? Critters. Lots of ‘em. We {heart} critters.
If anyone has one of these barns just sitting about that they are no longer using, just give me a jingle. Really. We’d be happy to take it off your hands.
