This pooch came to live with us almost 3 months ago. She was a tiny little bean - still is. Her name is Sadie and we all love her.
And by all of us, I do mean each and every member of our family. I love her because she does not shed. (And other reasons, but today, it is the attribute of not shedding. Thank you.) There's a five-year-old boy at our house who enjoys having a fire dog, a cattle dog, a roping dog, a police dog . . . and goodness, does she think he belongs to her.
Already, Sadie's a pretty loyal companion. And Ruby scores extra points because she is the closest in size to Sadie - thus, she gets the rolling, the jumping and the licking, but she's tough! Ruby can probably get Sadie in the kennel faster than anyone in the house and it's a treat to watch.
"I'm a lonely little puppy in a broccoli patch, a broccoli patch, a broccoli patch. I'm a lonely little puppy in a broccoli patch and all I do is cry all day - boo hoo!"
(Sorry. I thought it was funny and then when I typed it all out, I determined it was not as funny if you didn't know the onion patch song, but I"m not going to delete it.)
And Sadie is always quite glad to join in on an family activity that might involve her favorite people. Trains might just be one fun time. Especially if there are treats in the dining car.
But when the train is parked and Sadie's made her rounds to be sure both her little people are in their proper spots for nighttime, Daddy's lap is the place to be. (Repeat after me: spoiled pooch.)
