If the hot weather doesn't remind me that we are in the peak of summer, pictures like these certainly do. It's hard to believe that these spring photos of our early fruits . . .
:: the first rhubarb of the season
:: my new strawberry bed so the plants can stretch their toes and I can have more garden space
:: the cherries just setting on
. . . have all been picked and very much enjoyed!
:: little hands helping to make a much-anticipated rhubarb treat
:: the aforementioned treat - rhubarb syrup for rhubarb punch!
:: strawberries that never, ever make it to the refrigerator (or sometimes to the house, for that matter!)
And cherries that are tucked away in our freezer. Not too many, but enough to make a cobbler treat one of these days. One day, we hope to try one of the seven pears that are on our little pear tree! It's the first time it has bloomed. (See the banner pic)
Hopefully you're enjoying the fruit of the summer!
when did you plant your pear tree? I planted one last year (or was it two years?)...anyway, there's nothing on it this year. Was wondering how long I had to wait or what was up. I have apples on the apple trees that I planted the same year...
We got enough cherries to make two cherry pies and two batches of cherry jelly. How was the rhubarb punch? I've never had that, but it looked very interesting.
